Few meals strike the perfect balance between elegant and comforting quite like these Walnut-Crusted Pork Chops. A crisp coating of finely chopped walnuts and seasoned breadcrumbs creates a beautifully golden crust that locks in the pork’s natural juices while adding a rich, nutty flavor with every bite. Serve with fresh, California grown vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork chops (thin cut)
  • ½ cup California grown walnuts (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • Mustard

Directions

  1. In a bowl combine finely chopped California grown walnuts, breadcrumbs, and the other seasonings. Set aside.
  2. Coat the pork chops with mustard — this will help bind the crumb coat to the pork chops. Press both sides of each pork chop firmly into the walnut mixture.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sear the pork chops for about 2–3 minutes on each side. You will want the skillet hot to achieve a good crust without overcooking the pork chops. Cook until internal temperature is 145°.
  4. Let rest for 5–10 minutes. Enjoy!
